Over the next two months, BID will begin implementing a special project that aligns with our mission to support downtown businesses. We’re excited to introduce our special project: Lights, Camera, Action!
This project focuses on exactly what it sounds like! BID will be managing “Our Downtown” through an interactive app called P3 Tips. The community will be able to submit secure and anonymous tips to be managed by the Janesville Police Department and Janesville Area Crime Stoppers.
In addition to “Our Downtown,” BID will be working with downtown property owners on the installation of better lighting, new cameras, and helpful signage to promote positive activation of downtown space. BID will create networks that allow JPD to access these outside cameras as needed based on reports and P3 Tips.

BID is funded through an assessment system that levies a special assessment against property owners within the Business Improvement District. The assessment funds received fuel the development of properties and businesses within the BID.
The Downtown Janesville BID area is split into 3 zones with zone 1 property owners paying the highest assessment, followed by zone 2 and then zone 3. The BID is truly downtown property owners supporting downtown Janesville.
